Lakeside is Back! (special licence required)

Good news for anyone who likes racing at Lakeside as HPRW again has access to use the track for racing.

February 12th and March 12th will be the first events before the Winter calendar begins on March 26th. We have a further 6 events there in winter + each alternate week in Summer 2011 - 2012. We are back!!

The arrangements:

  • There is no fee charge for hire of the track for the promoter (HPRW)
  • There is a fee for individual users
  • The fee is in the form of a "Lakeside Licence" (on top of the $10 race entry fee)
  • Like the CQ licences you have 2 choices of licence purchase
  • $10 fee per event (complete a form and pay at the race) OR
  • $50 fee for 2011 - entitles the bearer to enter ALL events at Lakeside with the one off payment (complete a form and pay at the race)
  • Both options will be available each week, but most importantly at the first race on Feb 12th.

See the website or the RoadGrime calendar for details

That's awesome, well done to Mick and all the others who managed to persuade the new owner to let us back!

Well done HPRW - even as a Balmoral boy I will happily say that Lakeside is the premier crit circuit in Brisbane... Smile

Quick question - will the "Lakeside licence fee" also be applicable to the Anzac 25 Open??

Cheers, Abby

As it's an all-day track hire I think this would just be incorporated into the online CQ payment, but will check for you mate.

Here are the details of the Lakeside Licence we are required to obtain before entering the track. These are the conditions under which we are permitted to use the circuit by the lessee of Lakeside - Qld Raceways. Please arrive a little earlier on Saturday to complete this new licence paperwork.

Abby, I believe this licence will also apply to the ANZAC 25 but I will confirm the exact details later.

Yes it will. At this stage probably a pay-on-the-day arrangement for anyone without a 'season pass'.

Don't forget to download and complete an application beforehand if you are coming on saturday to save time. There is a lot of medical information to fill out but I am told this is only so that paramedics have this info should you require treatment.

Another revenue raising SCAM. It's all abour liability of which we are covered by our exessive CQ License fees. As we never ride there on our own accord, it is always under HPRW as an official event, we are covered and QLD Raceways is not liable. That piece of paper we sign before we race is another precaution.

$283.00 Race License

$55.00 Team Jersey

$50.00 Just to race at a location

What next? I think I might start taking *** fee's at the start of Zupps just for liability!

So what have you done to change that situation or increase the number of racing locations Hercules? Its very easy to sit behind a keyboard and *** about the hard work others but in, but I wonder if you actually have the balls to tell us who you are and who you ride for. If you dont like it, dont pay the money and don't turn up. Im guessing with your attitude most of us will be happy you dont.

One thing I am confident of. HPRW wouldn't screw you out $ with some bullcrap fees to fund raise.

You don't have to race at Lakeside. So you save yourself some $. Just stick with the flat courses.

Too right. As I said earlier, Lakeside is easily the best off-road 'crit' circuit we have in SEQ.

I don't know the details, but understand HPRW have had a 'challenging' relationship with the circuit owners/managers since it was refurbished. So huge props to HPRW for managing to negotiate regular access to this circuit for racing again...

Even as a southsider, if I wasn't still off-the-bike with my shoulder injury, I'd be signing up for the full Lakeside Licence and making the most of this great opportunity on this awesome track.

If you haven't raced their before - do yourself a favour. Totally worth it...

Cheers, Abby

It was a great morning at lakeside. I think I heard we had 150 riders across all the grades.

Yeah & I think about 127 of them were in B grade.

C grade was very steady & smooth today. Thanks to all the riders who worked on the front while I sat at the back ticket collecting with a pair of very sore quads. (stupid running, but hey I've lost 3 pants sizes)

What about that big break you did in the prime lap Zep. You should have whispered something as you flew past, we might have carried it off. I had a lot of fun in my first crit in 25 years. Can't wait till next month.

What about next week ? Don't be so lazy you sandbagger. Let me guess you're doing some 300km tour of Nambour or something insane like a 48hr audax event.
