I have several favorites, but the main three are;

Mt Nebo - Good mix of difficulty and distance, plus you get a rest on all the downs!

Mt Mee - Nice, solid climb with great views

Mt Gravatt - It's my local!

I like the climb up to Montville. For a non climber like me, its a nice gentle and consistent grade. Find a nice gear, tap out a good rythm and enjoy the nice scenery. Have only done Tamborine once, but that was also good.

Mmmmm that is a nice one......Mr Patten took exactly 2 minutes out of my time up here last year to knock me off the top step and judging by his form this year would probably be the first man to beat the 1 hour mark.

Binna Burra from when you leave Advancetown road (35km I think to go) has 3 sepperate climbs and lots of undulating bits, that and the scenary and change in landscape makes it my favourite.

Thought I'd get in before the pros start raving about the European Super climbs......

Cemetery Hill - When I first starting riding I had to jump off, very embarressing(I had a 11-21T cassette) I though I was going to die and left a half digested banana at the top. Great memeories of this little bugger.

Mt Mee - Nice gradient, great views.

Still like Glorious from the Samford side. Mongrel of a hill, especially when you get on the steep part past the hairpins, get around that slight right hand bend & look at it continuing up just as steep.

I actually find it easier to ride now than when I was at my fittest 20 years ago. It must be that in the 80's no-one had ever heard of anything lower than a 42 on the front, or bigger than a 21 on the back.

+1 great gradient and views the whole way up

just one of the busiest one way roads in Queensland... with the largest collection of tourist, Old people and knob motorcyclists...

I find i always end up with a higher average HR on the decent.

Definitely Mt O'Rielly's in Qld. Nice steady, not to steep, so you can maintain nice rhythm. Except the last 5km that is.

Falls Creek Climb in Victoria is a beauty. Another one long and steady with superb views.

And don't start me on Italian Alps and Dolomites.

Lockinvar hey ? That's very close to home for me. Hate that hill though as it reminds me of PEI just a lot shorter.

Doing all 3 climbs up the Bunya Mountains ( btw Kingaroy and Dalby). Harder than anything in Brisbane (I haven't climbed anything on the GC). Beautiful scenary when you get to the 'township' on top too. Road from Maidenwell up one side of the Bunyas once over corragated roads. I had to walk up a small stretch of the climb (pretty unfit at the time) but very hard none the less. When descending on the Kumbia side, you can break 100km/h. If you're looking for a place to do a climbing training camp that is 'fairly' local, mark this one down.
